The man telling the country how to survive an apocalyptic event must reach across the country to teach people how to heal themselves. David's saga continues, only without David. Instead six young girls set off in multiple directions, taking his cure to different cities in the hope everyone can treat their own people while not getting killed! This sequel follows each girl as they journey to different cities, trying to convince reluctant survivors to trust them to make them sick.

A two day meteor storm wiped out the world's power and communications, as well as triggering a series of plagues which decimated the world. With no prevention, the world went into seclusion, avoiding one another. One man and his daughter devise a treatment, infecting people by injecting them with their plasma, which also transfers their ability to survive it. Threatened to be overwhelmed as people learn about their treatment, David sets those he's treated out into the world to sicken others in the hopes of spreading his treatment beyond himself.

This book is PG rated (language, though the previous two books in the series are for adults).

About Vincent Berg

Having spent a career working as a computer specialist in the financial industry in Chicago and New York City, I traveled a lot and met a lot of varied characters. I bring that experience, and a history to looking at problems in unexpected ways to weave interesting stories together.

I struggled with writing for a long time, but could never finish anything, until I realized that while I could suspend my disbelief long enough to read a novel, I couldn't do it long enough to write one. Thus I decided to ignore the standard 'rules' of writing a story.

Every time I write a story, beside a basic plot and a theme, I create a particular writing challenge (like creating a cast of hundreds, or killing of most of my characters). It may not always work, but it keeps me interested, it makes me work that much harder, and it provides some unique tales.

AWAKE IN THE NIGHT LAND is an epic collection of four of John C. Wright's brilliant forays into the dark fantasy world of William Hope Hodgson's 1912 novel, The Night Land. Part novel, part anthology, the book consists of four related novellas, "Awake in the Night", "The Cry of the Night-Hound", "Silence of the Night", and "The Last of All Suns", which collectively tell the haunting tale of the Last Redoubt of Man and the end of the human race. Widely considered to be the finest tribute to Hodgson ever written, the first novella, "Awake in the Night", was previously published in 2004 in The Year's Best Science Fiction: Twenty-First Annual Collection. AWAKE IN THE NIGHT LAND marks the first time all four novellas have been gathered into a single volume.

John C. Wright has been described as one of the most important and audacious authors in science fiction today. In a recent poll of more than 1,000 science fiction readers, he was chosen as the sixth-greatest living science fiction writer.
