Prologue: The following article appeared in the morning edition of the St. Paul Mirror on April 1, 1949: A woman was found dead on the sidewalk in front of the Traveler's Hotel in downtown St. Paul on March 21, 1949. She was discovered by an employee at about 8:50 a.m. According to police at the scene, she had fallen from one of the hotel's third floor apartment windows...
